Employment Law Training
Employment law in the UK has seen many important changes in recent months that have had a significant impact on the rights of employees and the responsibilities of employers. Further employment law changes with equal impact are in the pipeline for 2010 and beyond.
Total Human Resources in association with Business Link have designed essential courses for employers to understand their legal obligations and implement the necessary practices and procedures. Our low cost half day seminars starting from only £45 per delegate will empower you with the knowledge to avoid potential costly employment disputes, a substantial return for a small investment.
We can also deliver in-house training modified to your current policies, please call us on 0845 094 1118 for further details.
Employment Contracts
Contracts of Employment
Contracts of employment remain at the heart of the employment relationship. Getting the right contract at the start is essential. However, business needs may change, so contracts need to include flexibility at the outset, as they may need to be varied.
Contracts of employment are required by law to be given to all employees who have been employed for at least a month. The key aims are to help you avoid misunderstandings about employees’ particulars of employment. Many employment tribunals claims arise from inadequately documented terms; the appropriate notice not being given when terms need to be changed or the proper procedures not being followed when contracts come to an end. By the end of this session you will be aware of the main terms and conditions that need to be included in a contract, how to vary the terms, and end a contract.
Coverage:
What is a contract of employment?
What is a written statement of employment particulars?
When a written statement should be issued
Who should receive of written statement?
What should be in the written statement?
How to vary a contract of employment whilst avoiding legal pitfalls
How to terminate a contract of employment
This is a free event for SMEs employing up to 50 staff. All other SME's are welcome for only £45+VAT per delegate, please call us on 0845 094 1118 forthcoming training dates and bookings.
